An initiative connecting researchers working on Open Quantum Systems in high-energy physics, nuclear physics, cosmology and quantum information.

OQSFP aims to connect researchers using open quantum systems in fundamental physics. The goal is to make methods, questions, and results visible across communities that often work on similar problems with different languages and tools.
Network
The initiative is centered around four main topical groups, representing different subfields.

Workshops
Upcoming and past workshops and programs organized by OQSFP.
Upcoming workshops will be added here.
April 13-30, 2026
MITP Mainz
An interdisciplinary MITP program on open-system tools and applications across nuclear physics, high-energy physics, quantum information, and cosmology.
December 1-12, 2025
Institute for Nuclear Theory, University of Washington
An in-person INT program bringing together researchers applying open quantum system methods in nuclear and high-energy physics, with connections to quantum information and cosmology.
Seminars
Recurrent online events to discuss recent developments in Open Quantum Systems.
The recurring series will consist of quarterly online meetings with talks and presentations of recent papers, enabling discussion of recent developments related to open quantum systems and applications in fundamental physics.
The seminar series is currently being organized. To suggest a speaker or topic, contact the conveners or join the mailing list.
Past seminar entries, slides, and videos will be added once the series begins.
